Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) trades near $120.44 as of 15:00 (GMT+8) on 12 August 2026, down 0.44% on the last 15-minute bar on the Vantage Cisco Systems CFD chart below. A quiet number for a loud week. The Cisco stock price has swung between $120 and nearly $125 in five sessions, and the real event, fiscal fourth-quarter earnings, lands after tonight’s close, call at 4:30 PM ET. Options traders have priced an 8.21% swing either way, one of the wider moves this Cisco stock forecast has carried into a print this year. This reads the chart, not the trade.

Cisco Stock Price Today: Reading the Chart Into the Close

The Vantage Cisco Systems CFD moved between $120.37 and $121.29 on the last completed candle, opening at $120.96 and closing at $120.44. Rewind a few sessions and the Cisco stock price today looks almost sheepish by comparison: price ran from the low $120s to $124.60 by 10 August, then gave nearly all of it back on 11 August. Charts rarely reverse that cleanly without a reason, and the reason here is obvious, the market clearing its throat before earnings.

RSI (14) on the TradingView setup used for this analysis reads 40.46, signal line at 38.20, both under the neutral 50 mark after dipping into the low 30s on Tuesday’s sell-off. Nervous, not panicked. The 50-period average sits at $120.30, almost glued to price, while the 200-period average sits higher at $122.28, the short-term average catching up to the current Cisco stock rate after this week’s drop.

Why Cisco Stock Is in Focus Today: Q4 Earnings on Deck

Why Cisco Stock Is in Focus Today: Q4 Earnings on Deck

Cisco reports fiscal fourth-quarter results after the closing bell today, call at 4:30 PM ET. Consensus calls for EPS of $1.17, up more than 18% year-on-year, on revenue of roughly $16.82 billion to $16.85 billion, a gain of about 15%.1,3 Cisco’s own guidance points to revenue of $16.7 billion to $16.9 billion and non-GAAP EPS of $1.16 to $1.18, tight enough that tonight’s Cisco news either confirms the growth story or complicates it fast.9

The options market has priced an implied move of 8.21% to 8.26% around the release, which on a Cisco stock quote near $122 puts the post-earnings range at roughly $111 to $131, present positioning by options traders, not a forecast of where the stock price moves next.1,5

The AI and Networking Story Behind the Cisco Stock Forecast

Every Cisco Systems stock conversation this year turns to AI infrastructure. Through Q3 FY26, Cisco booked $5.3 billion in AI infrastructure orders and lifted its full-year AI order target to $9 billion from $5 billion, with AI revenue outlook raised to $4 billion from $3 billion.4,9 Product orders rose 35% year-on-year in Q3, networking orders up 50%, though UBS expects a cool-off to 29% order growth this quarter, alongside networking revenue of $9.6 billion, up 26% year-on-year.3,10

Sell-side targets have moved higher into the print. UBS holds a Buy rating and a $132 target.10 Citi raised its target to $139 from $112, also Buy.6,7 Cisco stock has gained roughly 59% year-to-date, now roughly 7% below its all-time high of $130 after this week’s pullback, a run that makes an earnings miss less forgivable than in January.4,5 Cisco has also begun rolling out AI agents workforce-wide, coinciding with recent headcount cuts, an odd pairing worth watching.2

Levels to Watch and Risk Considerations

Level TypePriceWhat It Reflects
Support$120.3050-period moving average, now sitting almost level with price
Support$111.46Lower bound of the options-implied earnings-move range
Resistance$122.28200-period moving average, the slower-moving line sitting just above price
Resistance$130.00Cisco’s current all-time high

These are reference levels from the chart and the options market, not entry or exit signals. Tonight’s print could push the Cisco system stock price through any of them, and the size of that potential move is unusually wide by CSCO’s own recent standards.1 Leverage, such as through a CFD, amplifies both gains and losses relative to position size, worth remembering given the options market is already pricing above-average volatility around this one event.

Given the width of the options-implied range, Stop Loss placement and overall exposure carry more weight than usual into this print. A Stop Loss helps limit losses to a planned size rather than an open-ended one, which matters most when volatility is elevated, as it is here. Leverage remains double-edged: it scales exposure without the full notional value, but it cuts just as hard against losses as for gains. Traders holding CSCO exposure into the release may want to revisit position sizing relative to account equity before the 4:30 PM ET call.

RISK WARNING: CFDs are complex financial instruments and carry a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You should ensure you fully understand the risks involved and carefully consider whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money before trading.
