What is a segregated client account?
A segregated client account is used to hold client money separately from the relevant Vantage entity’s own operational funds. The precise arrangements and protections depend on the entity holding your account, the applicable client agreement, and governing law.

1
Can client funds be pooled with money belonging to other clients?
Yes. Segregation from Vantage’s own funds does not necessarily mean that each client's money is held separately from the money of other clients. Individual client balances are recorded in accordance with the applicable client-money arrangements.
-
2
Who is the legal account holder?
The relevant Vantage entity maintains the client account with the financial institution. Client entitlements are determined by the entity’s records, account terms, and governing law.
-
3
When may client money be transferred or used?
Money held in a segregated client account may be transferred, withdrawn or applied only as permitted under the applicable client agreement and legal requirements. This may include meeting trading, margin, settlement, fee or other authorised obligations. While money remains classified and held as client money, it is kept separate from Vantage’s operational funds.
-
4
What happens in the event of insolvency?
In the unlikely event of insolvency, client money would be administered in accordance with the applicable account terms and insolvency laws. Segregation is intended to protect client money from Vantage’s operational funds, but it does not guarantee that all money will be recovered. Eligible clients may also benefit from the Excess of Loss insurance policy if the applicable policy requirements are met.*
Additional Protection for Your Funds
At Vantage Markets, protecting our clients' money is one of our key priorities. Alongside maintaining client funds in segregated accounts, eligible clients may benefit from an additional layer of protection through Excess of Loss (EoL) insurance underwritten by ARCH 2012 at Lloyd's of London.
Our EoL fund insurance coverage provides up to USD50 million in total aggregate coverage, with a maximum of USD1 million payable in respect of the Net Loss of any one eligible Claimant.* The policy is provided at no additional cost to eligible clients and is subject to the applicable policy terms, conditions, exclusions, retention, and limits.
