AAPL stock price today: Apple, trading under the AAPL ticker, sat at $340.16 as of the 07:33 UTC (15:33 GMT+8) cut-off on 29 July 2026, per the Vantage AAPL CFD feed, barely budging from the $340.02 open. That calm on the surface is doing a lot of work. One session earlier, Apple’s shares briefly touched a $5 trillion market cap for the first time ever. Two days from now, the company reports fiscal third-quarter earnings after the US market close. Something has to give this week, and this piece reads the chart and the calendar without trying to guess which way it breaks.

AAPL stock chart today: what it’s showing

On the 15-minute AAPL stock chart used for this analysis, the session opened at $340.02, poked up to $340.54, dipped to $338.07, and settled back at $340.16, a gain of $0.15 (+0.04%) versus the prior close, per the Vantage AAPL CFD feed. Volume registered 395.31K on the Vantage CFD feed.

Overhead, the chart’s overnight marker sits at $341.25, a lid price action has bumped against but not broken.

Underneath, the 50-period moving average reads $329.76 and the 200-period average reads $337.93, per the TradingView setup used for this analysis. Price has held above both since the leg up from the low $320s in late July.

RSI (14, close) sits at 61.07, with its signal line at 59.33, per the same TradingView setup. That’s constructive, well below the overbought readings above 80 this same chart flashed earlier in July. Momentum has cooled without breaking down.

AAPL stock news today: a $5 trillion session

AAPL stock news today

Apple’s stock briefly touched a $5 trillion market cap on 28 July 2026, a day after overtaking Nvidia for the title of the world’s most valuable public company, according to CNBC.[1] It’s a milestone only one other company has reached, in the same week Apple traded the top spot back and forth with Nvidia.[2]

The AAPL stock news story here is less about Apple doing anything new and more about what it isn’t doing. Shares are up roughly 23% to 25% in 2026, coinciding with investors rotating toward companies seen as more restrained on AI infrastructure spending, according to Forbes and CNBC.[2,3] Nvidia, whose business is more directly tied to the AI infrastructure buildout, has gained considerably less over the same period.[2] This isn’t the first AAPL news headline this month; see our last AAPL check-in on China’s Apple Intelligence clearance.

AAPL earnings week: what’s driving sentiment

AAPL earnings arrive after the US market close on 30 July 2026, with the call to follow about an hour later, according to the Motley Fool via Yahoo Finance.[4] Wall Street is looking for revenue growth near 16% and EPS growth near 20% year-on-year, per the same report.[4]

Analyst opinion has split hard into the print. KeyBanc downgraded the stock to Underweight from Sector Weight this month, citing slowing hardware demand and a stretched valuation, with a price objective of $250.[5] HSBC went the other way, upgrading Apple to Buy and lifting its price objective to $366 from $260.[5] The $116 gap between those two targets illustrates how sharply analyst views have diverged heading into the earnings report.

There’s a leadership subplot here too. Apple confirmed in April that Tim Cook will move into the role of executive chairman, with John Ternus, its senior vice president of hardware engineering, taking over as chief executive from 1 September 2026.[6] The transition does not affect Thursday’s reported quarter, although leadership and strategic direction could feature in the earnings discussion.

AAPL stock price today: levels to watch

Resistance$341.25Overnight reference marker on the chart
Support$337.93200-period moving average
Support$329.7650-period moving average
Support$320.00 – $324.00Late-July consolidation low before the rally resumed

Table 1: AAPL CFD levels referenced from the chart used for this analysis and recent session data (Vantage). Accessed on 29 July 2026.

These are reference levels from the AAPL stock chart, not trade signals. The 15:33 (GMT+8) cut-off price of $340.16 sits inside the $337.93 to $341.25 band that has framed trading since the rally resumed, tight enough that Thursday’s earnings print looks like the catalyst that finally moves it.

What to watch

Here’s the AAPL news worth tracking into Thursday, alongside our wider stock market news today coverage:

  • AAPL Earnings (Q3 FY26), 30 July 2026: Apple reports after the US market close, with the call to follow around an hour later.
  • Analyst Revisions, Ongoing: Price objectives have ranged from $250 to $366 through July; post-earnings notes are likely to adjust that spread.
  • CEO Transition, 1 September 2026: John Ternus takes over as chief executive, with Tim Cook moving to executive chairman.

AAPL earnings prints are historically volatile for any individual share CFD, and past results have shown sharp moves both ways. For anyone watching the AAPL stock price today, a Stop Loss can help define downside exposure, although earnings-related gaps and fast market conditions mean execution may occur away from the specified stop level.

Leverage magnifies both gains and losses, and that cuts both ways heading into earnings week. Position sizing relative to account equity is worth a second look given how far the AAPL ticker has travelled this year, and anyone holding correlated tech exposure may want to add it up before Thursday’s report lands.

RISK WARNING: CFDs are complex financial instruments and carry a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You should ensure you fully understand the risks involved and carefully consider whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money before trading.
