ASX 200 Continues to Look for Support
- Noisy trading may signal a positive sign.
- ASX seeks support near AU$8,200.
- Global market volatility continues to influence Australia’s volatility.
During Monday’s session, the ASX 200 tested the 8,200 level before rebounding, signalling potential support. While market conditions remain volatile, this level of turbulence could indicate a possible shift toward recovery. Given the recent downward pressure on the Australian index, an immediate reversal seems unlikely, but stabilisation may be underway.
A break above 8,350 would challenge the 50-day EMA, a key technical level closely watched by traders. Conversely, a drop below 8,200 would bring the 200-day EMA into focus, a crucial threshold for long-term investors.

Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA)
The Commonwealth Bank of Australia surged nearly 3% on Monday, marking a sharp contrast to its recent performance. This rally was mirrored by Australia’s other “Big Four” banks, indicating broader sector strength. Currently, the stock is approaching the 50-day EMA, a key technical level that could introduce resistance. However, the AU$150 level appears to be establishing itself as a support zone within the broader uptrend. Notably, the bank’s strong earnings report two weeks ago may be attracting value-focused investors back into the market.

CSL Ltd (CSL)
CSL Limited had a strong performance on Monday, gaining 0.90% for the session, as the healthcare giant continues to attempt a recovery from a challenging year. CSL has fallen 8.53% over the past year, including a 3.33% drop in the last month. The recent earnings miss has further weighed on sentiment, keeping investor confidence subdued. However, the AU$2.042 dividend remains a consistent feature, offering some stability. Despite the recent rebound, CSL remains in a broader downtrend, with the AU$270 level serving as a critical resistance point that could shift market perception if breached.

Sigma Healthcare Ltd (SIG)
Sigma Healthcare saw a slight decline on Monday, losing 0.33%. The market continued to hover around AU$3.00, an area that is psychologically significant. Despite this minor pullback, the stock has surged an impressive 168.4% over the past 12 months, reflecting strong bullish momentum. Volume remains slightly elevated, signalling ongoing interest from traders. The AU$2.60 level serves as a key technical support and with an earnings report set for 20 March, market participants will be watching closely for further catalysts. Until then, the uptrend remains intact, with traders likely keeping an eye on potential breakout opportunities.
