ASX 200 Advances Despite Geopolitical Tensions
- ASX 200 holds firm despite Middle East tensions.
- Market sentiment remains mixed, but trend stays positive.
- Geopolitical headlines still in focus for traders.
The Monday session was positive for the ASX 200, which gained approximately 0.85% during the day. This suggests that Australia, along with several other global markets, has shown signs of strength. Markets appeared to discount the impact by the rising tensions in the Middle East for now.
Whether this continues remains uncertain, especially with geopolitical risks still present. However, the broader trend from recent weeks has continued despite the growing conflict. Investors seem more focused on momentum than on regional instability.
The ASX 200 often benefits from strong commodity performance, and there are early signs that global trade could be improving. Still, ongoing geopolitical concerns could sharply impact risk sentiment. While the long-term outlook appears tilted upward, occasional periods of unease are likely to emerge.

Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA)
Commonwealth Bank of Australia rose just 3 basis points during Monday’s trading session. However, the financial services giant has surged an impressive 43.17% year-to-date. Over the past month alone, it has gained 5.7%, with its market capital now reaching the key AU$300 billion mark.
The AU$184 level appears to be acting as resistance in the near term. Meanwhile, short-term pullbacks are finding support near the 50-day EMA. The AU$170 level is also aligning closely with that support area.

CSL Limited (CSL)
CSL rose 0.10% during Monday’s trading session, regaining some positive momentum. The market appears to be searching for a bottom around the AU$235 level. Although the healthcare company is down 17.3% year-to-date, it has recorded a modest 0.3% gain over the past month.
The AU$230 level seems to be acting as a support zone for now. Meanwhile, the 50-day EMA—currently near AU$247—is presenting resistance. This barrier may challenge those looking to time a rebound from recent lows.

Goodman Group (GMG)
Goodman Group rose 0.53% during Monday’s session, extending its 10.48% gain for the month. Over the past year, however, the stock has declined by 4.5%, currently trading around AU$34.16.
The 50-day EMA is trending higher and may soon cross above the 200-day EMA near the AU$33 level. This technical setup has drawn renewed attention from investors. The AU$32 level continues to act as a key support zone, reinforced by previous price action.
